House of Bianchi dress purchased fall of 1989 at a trunk show for 1990 wedding.

This elegant vintage gown is fashioned from creamy silk shantung. It has a classic A-line silhouette. The fitted bodice and  sleeves feature gorgeous details, including handmade Alençon lace, seed pearls and iridescent sequins. Delicate slik shantung bows on the short sleeves. There is a V-shaped back to the gown, and fabric-covered buttons trail the length of the back bodice, invisibly covering the zipper.  The skirt of the gown is edged in pearls and sweeps to a cathedral-length train. Hooks under the skirt allow it to be beautifully bustled to a floor-length hem. . It was purchased in 1989, when sizing ran smaller. I believe the gown was sized as a 12 with alterations at the waist and bust done. Bianchi was sized smaller at that time, this size would be closer to a size 8-10 today. I was 145 pounds when I wore it and am 5’9” tall. The hem of the gown was tailored to brush the floor on me while I was wearing kitten heels. There is a lovely headpiece that goes with the gown, embellished with ivory silk shantung flowers and pearls. The headpiece as a comb to attach to hair and also has buttons to attach a veil.  That will come with the gown, at no additional charge, if the buyer desires to have it.
